Abstract
Abstract: Indonesia is a diverse country with cultures, religions and beliefs, and this may lead to the emergence of differences and conflicts between members of its societies. The relationship between religion and state in Indonesia is complex and varied, especially in the context of Islam. As a democratic town, the government gives priority to the equal rights and duties of all citizens. This same treatment applies in all aspects of national life so that no discrimination occurs, particularly against minorities. Here, the researchers wanted to identify the government's role in contributing to creating harmony in the midst of this diversity, and how it had an impact on society. The researchers use the qualitative approach, which is the research methodology resulting from descriptive data, which are written or spoken words, from an individual or behavior that can be perceived. The researchers concluded that there are forms of contributions made by the government, such as the existence of religious harmony to build, preserve and enable religious people for harmony and prosperity, and an attempt to build tolerance positions between different religions, especially in indirect meetings between religions, with regard to sensitive theological issues.
