Abstract


Background : Arabic literature has a long and rich history that has significantly contributed to the development of literature worldwide. Although this influence is recognized, many aspects of the relationship between Arabic literature and global literature remain poorly understood. Therefore, it is essential to explore how Arabic literature influences other literary traditions and its contributions to the development of literary genres.

Purpos: The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the influence of Arabic literature on world literature through a comprehensive historical review. This study aims to fill existing knowledge gaps and provide new insights into the interaction between the two literary traditions.

Methodologies : The methodology used in this research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. This study involves analyzing works of Arabic literature and world literature that have been influenced, as well as relevant literature reviews. Data were collected from various sources, including books, articles, and journals discussing the influence of Arabic literature in a global context.

Principal Results : The research findings indicate that Arabic literature has significantly influenced writers and literary works in Europe and Asia. Many famous writers, such as Dante Alighieri and Geoffrey Chaucer, were inspired by Arabic literary works, as seen in the themes, styles, and narrative structures they employed. Additionally, this research found that the influence of Arabic literature is not limited to well-known works but also includes many minor works that have a significant impact. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of understanding the contributions of Arabic literature within the broader context of world literature.
